Unix and Linux SQL Server ODBC Drivers from Easysoft

Easysoft provide two SQL Server ODBC drivers for Unix and Linux platforms: the Easysoft ODBC-SQL Server Driver and the Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge.

ProductWhen to use
Easysoft ODBC-SQL Server Driver
  • You want a client-only SQL Server ODBC driver for Linux and Unix platforms.
  • You do not need ODBC access to other databases from a single product.
Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge
  • You want a single product that provides ODBC access to SQL Server and other ODBC databases.

The Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge is a client/server product that connects applications to any database for which an ODBC driver is available by using the database’s ODBC driver. For SQL Server, the Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge server component uses the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver to connect to the database and is installed on any machine where the ODBC driver is installed.

  • You want to access SQL Server from multiple client machines, in which case the Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge is a more cost effective solution.
  • You need ODBC access to SQL Server from platforms on which the Easysoft ODBC-SQL Server Driver is not currently available.

ODBC Drivers for SQL Server on Linux and Unix

The Easysoft ODBC-SQL Server Driver and Easysoft ODBC-ODBC Bridge connect Linux clients to SQL Server. Use the ODBC-SQL Server Driver and ODBC-ODBC Bridge for Linux to SQL Server access from distributions such as Debian, Fedora, Mandrake, Red Hat, SUSE and Ubuntu. Both Easysoft drivers provide ODBC access to SQL Server from major Unix platforms including AIX, HP-UX and Solaris. The ODBC-ODBC Bridge also enables ODBC applications on FreeBSD, Interix, Irix, QNX, SCO OpenServer, Tru64, Windows, Mac OS X and OpenVMS to access SQL Server.

The ODBC-SQL Server Driver and ODBC-ODBC Bridge let you access SQL Server from Perl, PHP, Zend, Python, C and any other ODBC-enabled language or development environment. Easysoft SQL Server ODBC drivers connect Unix and Linux applications such as Apache, ApplixWare, Informatica, OpenOffice.org and StarOffice to SQL Server databases.

If you need a SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012 or 2014 ODBC driver for Unix or Linux, the Easysoft drivers support SQL Server 2005, SQL Server Express, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 Express, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2012 Express, SQL Server 2014 and SQL Server 2014 Express. Linux and Unix applications can therefore take advantage of:
